Library Books by sinsikha is the theme I decided on after much back and forth between this theme and Book Shop by WpDevArt. Library Books won out due to it’s simple layout design with an aesthetic that put me more in mind of rare books than the brighter and bolder Book Shop theme.  I believe the low-key theme will be more appealing to an audience looking for book collecting opportunities. The simplicity of the theme also meant it was easier to customize – there wasn’t as many pre-built blocks to change around and I wasn’t having to fill out templates in someone else’s design so completely, which appealed to me greatly.

Still, to make it more engaging I did add some customizations – tweaked the color theme to a nice lavender and black, added a background image in the header, widgets to display posts from the site blog and book gallery, and a calendar feature for community events and store deals. In the future I would like to add a quote block that displayed a random quote every time a page loaded from a list of pre-selected quote choices.
