After all the plugin research, blog creations, site customizations and widget explorations, it’s difficult to pinpoint one single feature I feel was most important for the site. I think the book gallery, because it gave me a nice way to catch users interest in the shop collection right at the home page. But the calendar is what I was most excited about – it kindled the idea of including community events and trying to make the site more about connection and enjoying a shared interest over pushing a product.

Not to say I don’t realize the purpose of a business site is to make money – but does that have to be the primary purpose? For me, I appreciated the idea of a hobby-business site where money might be made but is not the focus. What could we become if our society changed focus the same way? So yes, the calendar is the key feature for me.
